Hello all,
I have been looking for a more eco-friendly way to do laundry--since it is the summer and most important for the environment. I have more time and patience to do laundry during the summer. Well, i have decided to air dry my laundry. :) I wonder how long i can do this? I saw a "Go Green" news special with Suchin Pak (MTV Host) and she gave some great ways to go green. She gave ideas of riding a bicycle to and from places, using reuseable cloth shopping bags for everything, recycling (paper, plastics, glass), and air drying her clothes inside the house with a drying rack. Well, we already recycle and use reuseable cloth shopping bags (for groceries).
I just wish it was feasible to ride a bicycle to and from our jobs and other places. We do alot of walking in our new neighborhood like to the corner store, coffee shop, restaurant across the street, blockbuster, and Marble Slab ice cream shop. I have been wanting to try the Wednesday .99 cent cones at TCBY on the other shopping strip but they did not know what i was talking about. It was so weird--i had called them to see how late they were open and about the Wed. .99 cent cone day and they said they had no idea about it. :(
Well, thanks for coming by. Talk to ya'll later.

That makes me sad about TCBY. But I only know of the one in Alamo Heights. Egh...I do know that for the month of July, you can go to Weinersnithel on Tuesdays and get a free kids cone or hot dog. Since July in National Hot Dog month. I know..weird fact.
Ok, Ok, I digress...
I agree with you. My husband has tried to walk to work but with no sidewalks and the risk of smelling gross all day, he doesn't chance it.
But we're using cloths bags too every time we go to the store. I just wish HEB would give us a bag discount like Sun Harvest does though.
Good idea about the air dry!
Hello! Thanks so much for watching and blogging about the show! I think the beauty of going green isn't what you do, but the fact that you're doing SOMETHING! ANYTHING! It's like anything, every little bit counts, every thought or action adds to the collective good and before you know it, we're breathing cleaner air, drinking cleaner water and living our lives to the fullest!! I also blog with friends at: http://planetgreen.discovery.com/the-green-room-with-suchin/
It's a long url, I know! Recipes, stories, gripes and celebrations about going green...hope to see you there as well.

glad you are doing some things to help the earth! here are a few things we do. we don't use paper towels anymore, only kitchen towels. we don't drink bottled water anymore, we use our filtered water from the fridge and put it in one of our nalgene cups, and at one point i was using a diva cup instead of pads and tampons, but got tired of that real quick. also adam bikes or runs to work but in the exercise science field, it's ok for him to wear workout clothes all day :)
so sorry you guys don't have .99 cent wednesday's.
and i saw at my HEB that you can get more "points" when you use cloth bags. i bet you guys don't have a points card though huh?
Um, ok I'm jealous that Suchin Pak made a comment on your blog. So fabulous!
SHUT UP! You got a comment from Suchin Pak! I flippin love her! Snaps to you for going green - hopefully we'll all get our acts together
