Gum chewing :*

Hello all, this blog will be discussing gum chewing. I am a gum chewer, but not the obnoxious annoying type where i smack or blow bubbles in my gum type of person. I casually enjoy a piece of gum between meals . I have moved from my beloved Extra spearmint gum to Orbit gum recently. I had been chewing Extra spearmint gum since middle school. Later it helped me with heartburn during my pregnancies. Spearmint is an natural relief for heartburn. I tried the tums, mylanta,coca-cola, coffee, etc. claims that will fix a heartburn, but nothing worked quite as well as spearmint gum.
Switching to Orbit's was fun because it has so many more flavors.
We have tried Orbit's Bubblemint, Sweet mint, Mint Mojito, Maui Melon Mint, Citrus Mint, Positively Pomegranate (limited edition), and Strawberry breeze (limited edition). Okay that is alot, but i was trying to find a flavor that did not leave a bad after taste.

**Bubblemint is my fave and regular type of chewing gum. Long-lasting flavor.
Sweet Mint was great for about the first five minutes and then turned into mush. YUCK! :( It had a light peppermint flavor .
Mint Mojito made my mouth literally smell like i had been drinking. Had a bad after taste.
Maui Melon Mint sounds better than it taste. It literally tasted like toothpaste. There was barely any melon flavor. Big disappointment! :(
Citrus Mint was citriousy, but ended up leaving a bad after taste. Orange TIC TAC gum...
**Positively Pomegranate is another fave. It does not leave a bad after taste and does not turn into mush. It's a limited edition, but so fruity and yummy. Long-lasting flavor too!! :)
Strawberry breeze was yummy too---then lost it's flavor after five minutes.

**Currently chewing.
Well, this a gum chewing update from the Gomez family. Hope you are more well informed. j/k If anybody has tried a five gum or any fave gums let me know.

I'm back...:)

Hello all, i just wanted to say that i am sorry for being a bad blogger, but i have really enjoyed reading all of ya'lls blogs. We have been doing school parties, moving, b-day parties, and weddings in the past couple of weeks. It has been crazy...The boys are doing great and love our new place, but Enzo has a hard time sleeping out of our bed. He has been with us since he was born---it was easier to nurse in bed (we are done with nursing though). Well, now he is three. We had his b-day at Kiddie Park here in old S.A. It was fun and small. His b-day landed on Father's day June 15th. He got his shopping cart, doctor kit, play cash register, playdough frame, and books. This boy loves to pretend play. It's funny because Ales was never into it and now he is because of Enzo. Ales was always into more of the outdoor sports kind of things. Don't get me wrong Enzo loves sports, but loves to pretend play with cardboard boxes, he likes to cook, help me with washing the dishes, and folding the clothes. I guess i allow him to do so because i could use the extra hand.
Ales will be turning 7 years old this coming July 30th. I can not believe my first baby is getting so big. I wish i could freeze time for a bit because it is going by fast. He does not let me hold his hand, kiss him anytime of the day (without permission), pick out his clothes, help him brush his teeth, or comb his hair. I guess this is just another phase in the son-mom relationship i have to grown into.
Helpful tip: i was reading online to find a way for Ales to become more money savvy and to complete his household chores. I do not overload him with chores, but we all have a share (even Enzo). Enzo has to make sure the toys are put back in the toy box when play time is over. I have gotten him to understand that he can take them out again whenever he decides to play again. It works out so far. He gets a penny to put in his piggy bank everytime he does this chore. He is really starting to like it and he knows how to identify what a penny looks like.
Ok, well for Ales he has four things he must get done before we head on downstairs for breakfast. 1. Get up 2. Go to the restroom (restroom break, wash hands, brush teeth, etc.), 3. make bed 4. Get dressed. Every time he does this without me reminding him over and over---he gets a dollar. So far, so good...With this rate my change money is depleting. :)

There is a great way for the kids to grasp the concept of money and to learn a daily chore. The incentive is there allowance. I don't know how long this will last, but it is worth a try. I can not find the original article, but here is one linked to it http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/CollegeAndFamily/RaiseKids/ShouldYourKidsGetAnAllowance.aspx?page=all.
